Live Music Venue in London211 Stockwell Rd, SW9 9SL
Classic venue. Was impressed by the friendly, efficient staff. The price drinks is reasonable. Longish wait to get served. If you're buying beer, they have a 1 litre plastic glass, a worthwhile investment.
One of London's better larger venues. It's an iconic Deco monolith in the heart of fizzing Brixton, so it's off to a good start. The downstairs arena slopes gently down to the stage, so there's always a view. And you get a great atmosphere. The balcony seating is ok, but it's not my preference to be up there. But views are fine. And the sound is usually pretty good. Other facilities are average. Bar pricey, but what do you expect? Toilets and cloakroom are adequate.
LOVE THIS VENUE! I have never been to a venue where the curvature of the floor allows you to see the stage from anywhere you stand. The decor is stunning, giving the visual of an outdoor concert when the lights are dimmed. Wish I lived closer to this place, nowhere in Birmingham comes close to this gem.
Great venue. You can stand anywhere downstairs and have a great view of the stage regardless of if you are at the front or back! The beer is okay and not massively over-priced like some London venues. You get a real sense of the history of the place & some of the acts that have performed there. Staff were really friendly + getting in & out was done easily and quickly. ðŸ‘
This is a very good music venue, big enough to attract big names but at the same time intimate - even at the back of the stalls you feel close to the stage. The sloping floor means a good view from anywhere (assuming the person in front of you isn't a giant), which is much better than most venues. The acoustics are OK too unlike in larger arenas, so Brixton is particularly good for music. I've been to many gigs here and always look forward to the next time.
